Solar Array Configuration Guide

Operating a 20 HP motor requires a substantial solar footprint. Oversizing the PV array is mandatory to maintain stable water output during late afternoons or partly cloudy days:

1. Total Solar Array Capacity: It is highly recommended to install between 19.5 kW and 22.5 kW of solar power (1.3 to 1.5 times the inverter rating).
2. String Wiring Layout: If you choose standard 550W panels (with an Open Circuit Voltage \(V_{oc}\) of roughly 50V per panel):
   • You will need 36 to 40 panels in total.
   • Correct Layout: Divide them into two parallel strings (2 Strings × 18 or 20 panels in series). This safety-checks your system by maximizing current while keeping the combined voltage well within the safe 800V DC ceiling.
